FCCM20: Highlighting Significant Contributions from 20 Years of the International IEEE Symposium on Field-Programmable Custom Computing Machines (1993--2013)

For the upcoming 20th anniversary of the International IEEE Symposium on Field-Programmable Custom Computing Machines in 2013, we will be assembling a special volume to highlight the most significant papers from the conferences. Our target is to identify roughly 25 papers across all years and major FCCM topics that best exemplify the contributions from the conference. Compared to the roughly 500 papers that have appeared in the conference, 25 papers will represent about 5% of all the papers published in the conference to date.

As a first step toward identifying these most significant papers, we are looking for nominations, endorsement, and discussion from the community at large. Between now and March 1, 2012, we will be take nominations on this web site and host discussion on the nominations. After March 1st, our panel of experts will review the nominations and commentary to select the papers for the FCCM20 highlights volume that will be available at FCCM 2013.

We acknowledge that papers will be significant for a variety of reasons and ask nominators and discussion to help us identify the various axes along which individual papers are particularly significant. Axes of significance include:
